Blue Butterflies

For the most part I usually know exactly want I want, I have strong gut feelings and a strong intuition that I have learned to trust and go where ever they lead. Even something as simple as which street to turn down when my Maps is saying something I'm not feeling. I follow my intuition.
However, that doesn't mean that I don't have the odd moments where I struggle to trust it
STORY TIME: On one of my first adventures to Koh Phi Phi in Thailand, the most must-see attraction is Maya Bay (you know, the island from The Beach) of course I needed to go there.
But as you know, I travel off-peak which means the weather ain't always groovy. (I mean, when I landed in Bangkok, I landed into a Typhoon!?) So the few days spent in Koh Phi Phi we had glimpses of sunshine and lots of tropical rain, so all tours were cancelled. Until the last day.
Of course I was like "Yaaasss Maya Bay!"
But my intuition was like "Girl, sit this one out."
And you know what? Girl did not sit that one out.

The tour was amazing up until the last stretch. You see my happy smile juxtaposed against the grey clouds? Well it got darker, both the clouds and my smile that is. The wind picked up so we headed back for the boats, it started to drizzle, the sea got rough, showers came down. We were getting smacked by waves and rain, it was harsh. The ocean was angry. Perfect Storm-vibes and our boat almost capsized, more than once. I clearly remember sharing eye contact with the girls.. is.. is this how it ends?
Anyway, we barely made it back to shore, and as soon as our feet touched the concrete we the collective sigh of relief was loud!
We vocal about our thoughts in those moments, we all felt like we escaped death.
I remembered my weird feeling from earlier, but survival adrenalin kicked in and that's an entirely different story.
Don't get me wrong, its a wonderful tour, if you are there (during the dry season) you have to do it.

Anyway let me double back to what this post is actually about, signs from the universe.
Sometimes I'm too conflicted to feel what the right decision is. Sometimes I'm just worried about the timing, so I take advice from my mentors and ask for a clear, concise sign...
ie. a purple flower, a pink star, a green elephant etc. something simple and visual that the universe can gather and bring to me in any way, shape or form.
I do this a lot, no matter how big or small the decision is. Once I asked for a Blue Starfish. and I thought I was being impossible (because really now) I hardly ever see starfish anywhere, let alone a blue one, but as it goes this video came to me, and I knew which direction to head in

Another time I had to make a major life decision. LIKE MAJOR. I felt I had to move into my own place. I felt in my gut that this was what needed to happen but I was unsure of the timing, a bit fearful of application, and also the fear of being a full fledged adult with my name on a lease (wtf). But as always, the Universe has our backs. So I asked: if the timing is right for this venture, and if it is leading me to the best possible outcome, please send me a Blue Butterfly.
I came across this

I mean it does look like butterfly wings, or am I making that up? Do I want this so badly that I'd make this up? Wait. Let's ask people to name the insects in the picture, if they say butterfly it's a sign!
All my friends said butterfly. But I wasn't convinced.
So I asked again and specifically, "Universe, please send me a CLEAR image of a Blue Butterfly in the next two weeks so I know which direction to go ."
And they lead me to these:
I received a total 9 Blue Butterflies within the week that I had to make that decision. I accepted the invitation and it was the best possible decision I could make and many things in my life had since fallen into place because of that, I moved into a modern, safe apartment thats become such a haven and pleasure to live in. My intuition was on point but the Blue Butterflies were the little extra validation that my mind needed to be brave enough to say YES.
Another thing I've started doing when Im unsure is to ask for Green, Orange or Red signs
I love using Butterflies or Stars, but you can choose anything:
Red Star if I need to stop pursuing a situation
Green Star if I should keep at it
Orange Star if its neither, or 'slow down'
